Elimination of Stains & Odors
Let the staff at Aberdeen Pro Clean help you take back a room that has been taken over by stains and odors. Our professionals have experience in battling hard to remove stains and odors from a variety of different carpets and upholsteries.
Your best chance for removing a stain is to do so as quickly as possible after the spot is made. The longer a spot sits on the carpet or upholstery, the harder it becomes to remove. While most stains can be removed easily with items found around the home, some require expert cleaning solutions.
Spot Removal Tips:
- Blot the stained area with a clean, white cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. D not use a scrubbing motion, as this can damage carpet fibers (and push the stain deeper into your carpet or upholstery)
- Apply a spot remover directly on the problem area until it is thoroughly wet.
- Wait 1-3 minutes while the spot remover loosens the stain.
- Gently wipe the spot clean with a white cloth working from the outer edges inwards.
- Once the spot has been removed, place a dry white cloth over the area and press to absorb any remaining moisture.
- If you do not have a spot remover on hand, mix ΒΌ teaspoon liquid dish soap with 1 cup cold water.
- If the spot persists, keep the area damp and call us at Aberdeen Pro Clean to come and give you a hand!
When it comes to pet stains, the first step to take is to train your pet not to soil in that area again. The next step is removing the stain.
Removing pet stains can be much more complex than one might think. Pet urine can easily soak through carpet into the padding beneath it. In extreme cases, it can even soak into the flooring underneath. Urine provides the perfect environment for bacteria to grow in, subsequently making the odor worse. It can also cause a permanent color loss to the actual fibers of your carpet.
If the stain has only affected the top layer of the carpet and padding, a deep cleaning with our enzyme solution and urine neutralizer may be enough to take care of it. In more severe cases, however, replacement of the carpet padding and treatment of the floor underneath may be required.
Our enzyme solution actually eats the proteins that are in the urine that the bacteria are feeding on. This is essential because the odor is actually caused by the bacteria. The full process of this step may take several days until the smell is entirely gone. Our odor neutralizer will also help with this process. Instead of just masking odors, it will actually seek out the odor and destroy it on a molecular level.
Aberdeen Pro Clean can help with pet stain removal. We use special cleaners that contain odor-busting enzymes that break down the source of the odor without damaging the fibers of carpets and upholstery. We can help you get your carpets and furniture smelling and looking fresh again!
